Ien Lucas (Echt, The Netherlands 1955) is known for her lines and circles paintings. Her abstract style remains consistent and the quality shows through continuous evolution of her works. Lucas started out with painting in oil for over ten years. When she developed an allergy towards her most used material, she was forced to find new materials. In a moment of frustration she sliced one of her canvasses with scissors. Suddenly Lucas saw new possibilities: the stripe-theme was born.
