The Melting Series is a family of bronze design objects that seem to melt. Even though the pieces are static, they give an impression of movement. The objects are made as one piece with a highly polished finish. Important in this process is the fluidity of the material and the love that is poured into the piece by both craftsman and designer.
The Champagne chairs are, together with the Golden Lagoon table, the new successors resulting from the melting series.
These chairs have a poetic approach; they reveal the bustling dinner of the previous evening, where champagne was spilled on the seats of the chairs.
Regarding the names of the 10 different editions, Reinier chose to use references to champagne; Brut, Sec, Doux, Muselet, Bruxeuil, Reims, Épernay, Moût, Cuvée and Sur Lie.
