The Rail Table is a modular table system crafted from reclaimed Iroko wood with a surprising look, thanks to the unique composition of differently shaped and angles wooden pieces. Inspired by childhood memories of table hedges as miniature highways, it functions as a sculptural puzzle, balancing precision, sustainability, and playful adaptability.
Designed in Ota’s signature style, a single volume can be used as a side table, while multiple volumes can be joined together to form a coffee table.
Sho Ota’s work explores the intrinsic qualities and limitations of wood. While using the material in his very own way, he creates sculptural pieces that mix and match geometrical constructions with organic shapes.
