Vanity BN#1 is an interactive artwork consisting of a mirror, activated by its viewer. When turned on, the mirror polarises the image of the viewer by its mirror pole.
The viewer engages in an intimate relationship with his image while viewing two different reflections. At first its image is superimposed on the grid stellar, then the viewers image becomes black and clears the internal geometry.
The term “Interactive” is fundamental for Marsiglia. In his digital works the direct participation of the public activates the ultimate definition of the work itself.
The work is minimal. The timber frame is covered in felt glittery. The 45 degree angle creates the illusion of the artwork appearing to be suspended on the wall.
