As part of the ‘Letter’ concept, the X console is used to convey emotion through design language. Along with emotion, the console is also a play on verbality. The letters have a literal meaning to them, but are also aesthetic objects. In the style of Reinier Bosch, this work is designed as a manner of expression, even if it is through onomatopoeia.
By combining his experience as a designer with his artistic working and thinking methods, Reinier Bosch is able to create a wonderful display of collectible design. What makes Reinier different from other artists is that all of his works, while vastly different in theme and design, are aimed at one goal, namely ‘showing the magnificence of life’. In the ‘Letters’ series, the designs of functional tables, cabinets and consoles are influenced by pop-art: each piece refers to a different emotion, usually in the form of onomatopoeia.
