Opening ‘een Koninklijk Paradijs’ by the Queen of the Netherlands

 

On February 18th 2017 Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, opened the exhibition ‘Een Koninklijk Paradijs’ in Dordrecht. With this exhibition the Dordrechts Museum celebrates Aert Schouman, a Dutch artist from Dordrecht, and its 175th anniversary.
During the exhibition 10 Ruffled pieces by Dominic Harris will be shown. His works, amongst others can be seen until September 17th 2017.

During March and April we will open a new group exhibition in the London Gallery Space. Five artists, each with one work, will be shown. The Private View will be held on March 16th 2017, 6PM – 8PM. From March 17th until April 20th the gallery is open between 11AM and 6PM on Monday until Friday.

The gallery is closed March 20 – 24 due to our participation at PAD Paris 2017, make sure to visit our booth in the Tuileries Garden.

Een Koninklijk Paradijs | het Dordrechts museum

Queen of the Netherlands, Máxima, will open the exhibition Een Koninklijk Paradijs – Aert Schulman en de verbeelding van de natuur on February 18th, 2017. The exhibition is opened from February 19th until September 17th 2017, highlighted with a complete chamber decoration of Palace Huis ten Bosch, the Palace where the king and queen will live.

The Dordrechts Museum exists 175 years and is one of the oldest museums of our country. The anniversary is celebrated with a superb overview of the work of Aert Schouman (1710-1792) from Dordrecht. Schouman belongs to the most important Dutch artists of the ‘ Silver Age ‘. As animal painter he is internationally known. He is famous for his watercolors of ‘ in-en uitlandsche vogels ‘, mammals and plants, and his bird wall pieces.

The Museum will combine the works of Aert Schouman with the ruffled series from Dominic Harris. Ten birds will be on display.
